I am both a independent professional artist and a non-profit arts administrator . I am currently a senior leader at Pillsbury House and Theatre, a center for creativity and community in Minneapolis, MN. I have been producing, managing and directing arts based community development projects, youth development programs, while making art with my community for over 20 years.
Over the past decade, my work has evolved to take on the form of interactive sculptural installations and situations in which public participation is a key component. I am currently engaged in several long-term public art projects; Dreamsland, which began in 2015, Poho Posit which begin in 2011-12 through a fellowship from Northern Lights, and One Another which is a project in development through a 2013 Jerome Fellowship. This new work brings me back to my roots as a painter, while challenging me to incorporate land use, new media, digital technology, and direct public engagement.
